この2つの歌はNoel Gallagher′s High Flying Birdsの新作「Who Built The Moon ?」に収録されている2曲である。
本作は「まるで映画である」コンセプトアルバムでもあるが、愛について歌っている歌詞についても注目して聴くとまた素晴らしい。
紹介したこの2曲は世界観が同じものだ。「If Love Is A Law」で「僕」は愛する君との別れを嘆き、海の向こうにいる彼女を追って海原へと漕ぎ出す。
「Dead In The Water」では、荒れ狂う海に沈み、水中で今にも息絶えようとする中、彼女への愛情を確認し、2人の「約束の地」へと思いをはせる。
美しくも儚い世界観です。
メロディに乗せてここまで儚い愛について歌ってみせたノエル、惚れてまうやろ～というオチ。
